  67. <p><small>GDB</small> reads its input commands via the <em>Readline</em> interface. This
  68. <small>GNU</small> library provides consistent behavior for programs which provide a
  69. command line interface to the user. Advantages are <small>GNU</small> Emacs-style
  70. or <em>vi</em>-style inline editing of commands, <code>csh</code>-like history
  71. substitution, and a storage and recall of command history across
  72. debugging sessions.
