  71. <dt><code>save breakpoints [<var>filename</var>]</code></dt>
  72. <dd><p>This command saves all current breakpoint definitions together with
  73. their commands and ignore counts, into a file <samp><var>filename</var></samp>
  74. suitable for use in a later debugging session. This includes all
  75. types of breakpoints (breakpoints, watchpoints, catchpoints,
  76. tracepoints). To read the saved breakpoint definitions, use the
  77. <code>source</code> command (see <a href="Command-Files.html#Command-Files">Command Files</a>). Note that watchpoints
  78. with expressions involving local variables may fail to be recreated
  79. because it may not be possible to access the context where the
  80. watchpoint is valid anymore. Because the saved breakpoint definitions
  81. are simply a sequence of <small>GDB</small> commands that recreate the
  82. breakpoints, you can edit the file in your favorite editing program,
  83. and remove the breakpoint definitions you&rsquo;re not interested in, or
  84. that can no longer be recreated.
