  66. <p>By default, when <small>GDB</small> parses C or C<tt>++</tt> expressions, strict type
  67. checking is used. However, if you turn type checking off, <small>GDB</small>
  68. will allow certain non-standard conversions, such as promoting integer
  69. constants to pointers.
