59.
#include <stdio.h>

 62. #include <stdio.h>
 63. int fileno_unlocked(FILE *<var>fp</var>);
 64.

 65.
Description
66. You can use
fileno
to return the file descriptor identified by <var>fp</var>.
 67.

 68.

fileno_unlocked
is a non-thread-safe version of
fileno
.
 69.
fileno_unlocked
may only safely be used within a scope
 70. protected by flockfile() (or ftrylockfile()) and funlockfile(). This
 71. function may safely be used in a multi-threaded program if and only
 72. if they are called while the invoking thread owns the (FILE *)
 73. object, as is the case after a successful call to the flockfile() or
 74. ftrylockfile() functions. If threads are disabled, then
 75.
fileno_unlocked
is equivalent to
fileno
.
 76.

 77.
78.
Returns
79.
fileno
returns a non-negative integer when successful.
 80. If <var>fp</var> is not an open stream,
fileno
returns -1.
 81.

 82.
83.
Portability
84.
fileno
is not part of ANSI C.
 85. POSIX requires
fileno
.
 86.

 87.

fileno_unlocked
is a BSD extension also provided by GNU libc.
 88.

 89.
Supporting OS subroutines required: none.
